I grew up playing softball and field hockey. I first started softball in 2nd grade and then field hockey in 3rd grade. As I matured, I noticed that I started to spend less time playing softball and I wanted to play field hockey more. In the fall of 2015, I began to do club field hockey at Marajoka. At first, I thought I would just practice there, but then I wanted to go more and more. My coach, Marty Romeril, pulled me aside the first night and asked me to come to the indoor try outs. I did and that was the point I defiantly knew field hockey was my sport.
Each year I set personal goals in the classroom as well as on the field. My goal for my freshman year high school was to achieve at least a 3.5 GPA and to make the High Honor Roll each semester. I actually have a 4.0 GPA and I did make the High Honor Roll my entire freshman year. As for field hockey, my freshman goal was to prove to myself and my coach that I can get a varsity letter. Not only did I letter, but I was a starter as left defense all season. In my sophomore year, my educational goal was to maintain a 4.0 GPA. As for field hockey, I wanted to play center defense and talk more on the field. I did start at center defense the entire season and I did become a stronger, more aggressive player, and improved my communication skills on the field. In my junior year, my educational goal is to maintain a 4.0 GPA and gain acceptance into the Honors Society. For field hockey, I wanted to be a leader on the field and accomplished that goal. In college, I will continue to challenge myself educationally as well as athletically. I am a driven individual and I love to learn.
As an incoming college freshman, my goal will be to make the starting line up and to contribute to the overall success of the team. I am a team player and respectful of others. Academically, I will strive to make the deans list to better my future. My personal expectation is that I can only change myself and at the end of the day I need to be satisfied with the person I am and will become. As I grow in maturity and grow my confidence I know I will be successful in the classroom and on the field.
