Marcus McClure '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Marcus McClure and I’m a graduating senior for the class of 2023. My collegiate goals and aspirations includes to be able to not only obtain higher education, but to continue breaking generational curses and tearing down the barriers that have been presented over the years. I would like to continue the legacy that my parents have established, which is rearing children who are accountable, productive, sustainable, members of society. Attending college would help me be able to accomplish this goal.

My aspirations are to not only obtain higher education, but to play a sport that I love so much at another level, football. I would love to be able to play football in order to exude leadership on the field, in the classroom, and in the world. Football is a great platform to inspire others, especially those that may be on difficult path, but can identify with being talented or loving the same sport just as much.

I believe I’m a good candidate for any team due to the fact that I’ve had to make many transitions in my life. The biggest one includes being adopted by my great aunt at the age of 7 months. I had to navigate through identifying who I was, where I had come from, and where I was headed. My character is different from other recruits because I’m a fighter. I’m a fighter when it comes to my grades and trying to rebound when I’ve suffered bumps due to personal challenges.
