Daniel Wood '11 Recruiting Profile

Hello, as you probably already know my name is Daniel Wood, and I am very interested in playing college football. I am 6'5, 215, and have a 4.8, 40 yard dash. As a starting sophomore at middle linebacker the previous year , I received honorable mention for all district. I have yet to finish my junior year in football, so I have not recieved any rewards for this year yet. I realize that my current position at linebacker is different from the tightend position as stated, but our defensive coordinator moved me to middle because of my abilities to read the offense. Under our new head coach, Jeff Weaver, his offense doesn't allow for a tightend, but I do rotate in at wide reciever and I have played tightend in the past. I offer the reliability to get the job done and the leadership necessary to keep a team together and focused on the job at hand. I am currently on our team's leadership council which was voted on by my teammates. Also, as the middle linebacker I call the defensive plays and make sure the defense adjust correctly. Truly, it is my dream to play football at the college level at a reputable academic university. My athletic goals are basically the same as the content guidelines say. My goals are to play as a freshman, to make an impact on my team, to be the best athlete that I can be, and to go as far as I can at the college competition level.
