My love of football began with Santa Barbara YFL at 8 years of age. I recall the countless times playing catch in the backyard with my brothers. I was inspired by watching my Father coach highschool students as a preschooler and attending games of family friends who later played at a professional level. Football has, as early as I can remember, been a foundational part of my life; not just as a sport but a family and community. I started wrestling and competing for the local wrestling club, The Anacondas at age 7. As my athletic abilities matured in highschool, one of my coaches took notice and encouraged me to try out for track. I found that I had an affinity for track and field and it has taken a solid third place in my lineup.
I am constantly working to improve my skills and develop my mental game by watching film as well as training to get bigger, faster and stronger. Throughout my highschool career, I have continued to refine my leadership skills, and gain new athletic skills on and off the field to push my capabilities. I listen when being coached and have discipline, and always strive to be the best, but at the same time stay humble in the midst of success.
In the classroom, I am a dedicated student. I maintain a high GPA while taking AP and honors level coursework and have developed good study habits to digest the material. I also volunteer at my church every Sunday to feed the homeless community of Isla Vista. Helping those in need and giving back to the community makes me feel more complete as a person. I would also describe myself as highly ambitious and entrepreneurial. I’ve created a successful small business that has allowed me to pay for my own car.
My ideal collegiate environment would be a dynamic place where I can push myself in the classroom and on the football field within the highest possible level of competition and mentorship, while simultaneously having a positive impact on my peers by demonstrating leadership with my example, building the team up and encouraging aspirations.
