My name is Connor Mignone (Uniform #75). Please note, on February 3, 2016, I committed to attend and play football at Central CT State University (D1AA). Thank you to all coaches and recruiters who viewed my information and contacted me via NCSA.
I am a senior 2 way football player, and I just turned 17 in November 2015. I am now 6'4", 305 lbs. For the Fall 2015 season, I anchored left tackle & guard for our teams pro style spread offense and triple option. I had over 30 knockdown blocks. On defense I played right tackle and left end and had over 40 solo tackles, 10 TFL’s, 18 hurries, 2 forced fumbles, 2 pass blocks, 2 sacks, and 1 interception, and I was in the top 5 DT's in tackles, in the State of CT. In December 2015, for this 2015 season, I made The Walter Camp ALL Connecticut Team, 1st Team All State Team, 2nd Team All-USA Today Team, First Team ALL SWC (South West Connecticut), and was voted team MVP for the second year in a row. In January 2016, I was named CT News 12 Scholar Athlete of the Week and interviewed by News 12 CT.
Earlier in the season, when interviewed for GameTimeCT, my head coach called me "...one of the best OL's in the State of Connecticut...". I have had a lot of colleges in contact with me. My current GPA is 3.7, and continue to be a consistent honor roll student.
In Fall 2014, as a 6'3" 280 lb. junior, as a 2 way player, I started at Right Tackle on offense and defense for the Joel Barlow High School varsity football team, who ran a triple option offense. My highlights for 2015 and 2014 include:
* Right Offensive Tackle - Started all 20 games in 2015 and 2014 seasons, never missed a snap and had more than 30 knockdown blocks in each season.
* Walter Camp All State Team OL 2015
* First Team ALL STATE Class OL 2015
* 2nd Team All USA Today Team 2015
* First Team SWC (South West Connecticut) in 2015 senior season, and also in 2014 as a junior offensive lineman
* Voted MVP of the Team for the 2014 and 2015 Seasons
* Right Defensive Tackle - Started all 20 games, over 40 tackles in 2015, over 31 in 2014, never missed a snap and had 7 TFL's and 2 sacks as a junior.
* Also played Offensive Guard, Center and Defensive End in 2015 and 2014
* In 2013/2014 season, started varsity at center (#56) at 6'2" 250 lbs, for all games as a 14 year old sophomore. I can shotgun snap. Won BIG FIGHT Award.
* Captain of the football team for 2015 season
* 3.7 GPA and honor roll student (in an academically highly ranked school)
* Captain of the Track and Field Team as a junior for 2015 Spring Season
My head coach is Rob Tynan ([email protected]), his cell is 203-258-2380. I am a durable player and in four (4) seasons I never missed a game and almost never missed a practice, and I love blocking. My best 40 time was 5.1 but I believe with additional training I could post a sub 5.0.
I plan to attend and graduate from college. I am interested in the fields of math, science, education, and engineering. I also lettered in 2014/2015 in Men's track, throwing the shot-put and discus, and I ranked #2 in our conference in both events for Sophomore's in 2014, and in the top 15 for Varsity, and won rookie of the year honors for my team, finishing third in total points, setting the school record for shot and discus for sophomores. In 2015 I went to the SWC regionals placing in the top 10. I was also captain of the track and field team as a junior for the 2015 Spring Season.
I am currently doing a lot of conditioning and weight work, I am benching over 330 lbs., and I have attended many football camps during the past Summers. I should also mention that while our 2014 season wasn't as successful, in our 2013 season I anchored our line as the starting center, we broke 20 school records, finished in the top 10 in the nation in rushing, and went to the state semi-finals.
In summary, I would like to attend a college which gives me the best opportunity to play football, at the highest level possible, and to get a good education and graduate from college. In going to FB camps and visiting colleges, I hear college coaches talk all the time as to how they not only want good football athletes, but players who work hard, get solid grades and have good character. I believe I am that kind of person, I am a quiet individual who leads by example, and I think I will make an impression and difference not just with my athletics, but with the person I am, my leadership and personal character, and I would be a great individual to have on your football team and at your college. I encourage you to contact my coaches to find out more about me, and I think you will find I am the kind of athlete and individual you would want on your football team.
Thank you.
