My Time of Enlightenment
It was a long night of chilling with the bros and watching football. We were watching college football on my friends big screen TV he just got like two days before the big game. Auburn was playing a rival who was a pretty big game on their schedule. They were getting beat real bad by the other team, and their defense wasn’t making any stops. One player on their team knew he had to step it up or things were going to get bad quick.
The running back of the University of Auburn took it upon himself to lead the team in the right direction in order to win the game. He gave it his all every time he got the ball between the whistles. He gave so much that he injured both of his shoulders in the third quarter, and they ended up winning the game. When he got interviewed two days after the game, the journalist were asking all kinds of questions. The most asked question was, “how did it feel to carry your team on your back to this win”. The running back said it's not about me or what I did that game, it's about giving myself up for the team and putting all I got into the team.
In this passage I want to explain to you how I gained the knowledge of sacrificing because when I was little I did not believe in this, but this changed my mind. When I saw this game, and that young mans interview it showed me that you have to give your all in everything you do including sports, school, or anything that involves physical activity. Everything comes with a sacrifice no matter what you do, whether or not it's giving up some sleep time to study for a test you have tomorrow , or its sacrificing your body for your team in order to be successful.
This has changed my life because ever since then I have been trying to give my hardest at everything I do. I started varsity as a sophomore on the football team in my high school. I have also made some mistakes in my life, but the only thing you can do is get right back up and keep going. So that right there is my perspective on sacrifice.
