Jaylen Mitchell '19 Recruiting Profile

From the time I could remember, I was always told that I was too small, not fast enough, not good enough to play football. I have been playing football since I was 5 years old. Starting in the Columbus Youth Football League, moving up the age ranks. I've also played in the Columbus Youth Indoor Team, and for the Fort Bragg League. I have attend many football camps through my time from the Andre Roberts football camp to the Atlanta Falcon's Junior camp. I really like football, of all the things that I am good at, this is one. I have always had a plan to finish high school, play in college while earning a degree, with the hope of playing in the NFL. But I do know that sometimes plans may get deferred, so have a plan B and C. With the help from my coaches, my mother, and my grand parents, I know I can achieve anything I set my mind too. I was once told by one of my coaches, that I have a heart of a lion, and he would take a whole team of me, vs the team he had. I have never been afraid of doing what need to be done. I am a fighter, and have been fighting all my life. I believe dedication, hard work, perseverance, service, and having the mind set that you can be what you want to be, drives me everyday to be the best.
