Personal Statement

My goal is to play at the next level in College. Ever since I was a boy I’ve played football and I was really good at it. For the longest time i was a WR that loved the feeling of scoring a touchdown and running fast. It wasn’t until High School where everything changed for the better. I was on a state championship team and they didn’t need any receivers and the coach told me to play on JV freshman year. I thought my career was over and was sad because I love the game so much. The following summer I was watching Kam Chancellor highlights and was amazed of his game. He was a hard hitting safety with so much energy. So, I switched to defensive not becoming a Saftey but a DB. I was really bad at first but I kept working in season and off season. Sophomore year I gained a lot of respect from the seniors and was ready for my JR year. I tried out for DV to earn my starting spot but I got benched the first two games. All that work led to me sitting the bench. I was furious, It wasn’t till out by week that our head coach brought me to his office along with the rest of the coaches in the room. For some reason I was nervous but they told me I earned my starting spot. So game after game I proved that am their best player and earned my spot as a starter. Senior I balled out but at the same time I was not looked at all. All my friends were going D1 which is my dream but I never got a call. I now continue to work harder than ever because I know I can prove my self again before I can play at the next level. When it all comes down to it, I will become a walk on and earn my starting position !
