William "Will" LaGuardia '17 Recruiting Profile

I grew up as a first born son in a football family. Throughout my childhood my father would recite famous quotes by football legends. It was always the quote on the meaning of leadership by Vince Lombardi  that impacted me the most.  Lombardi's quote is as follows and is the compass I used to set the course of my life's journey.  "Leaders are made, they are not born.  They are made by hard effort, which is the price all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.  It is essential to understand that battles are primarily won in the hearts of men.  Men respond to leadership in a most remarkable way and once you have won his heart he will follow you anywhere."  I have made a commitment to become the best leader in life as well as football.  If that journey leads me to become a superbowl quarterback I'll understand that the team became champions.  However, if I become a leader of men who are willing to follow me in the field of battle I'll know that I have pushed myself to reach the level of a champion.
