Personal Statement

My name is Vic Monzon. I am 17 years old and a student athlete at Antioch high school in Antioch, Il. I'm currently 6'0" tall and weigh in at 185 lbs. My primary sport is football, but I enjoy playing and competing in all sports. Senior season, I started both ways on Varsity, playing running back and defensive back. In addition to sports, I enjoy weight training and gaming on my down time. Playing football at the next level for a competitive program in the midwest is my next step after high school.

My remaining Senior season goals completing the ACT with high marks. Having this test score set my senior year would allow me to make a clear decision on which college I will be attending. I have chosen my major. Having an opportunity to play football in college while achieving my career goals would be incredible.

I am looking forward to all the great opportunities college will offer for my future athletically, socially and professionally. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Saginaw Valley State University Exposure
  • 5/19/19 to 5/19/19
  • Great School with awesome facilities, I had a great time. All of the coaching staff was extremely personable and informative. I showed well in all the events. I posted a 9.6 broad jump and a sub 4.1 time on the 5-10-5 drill.
  • Camp/Event
  • GV Prospect Camp
  • 6/30/18 to 6/30/18
  • Hosted by GV University, Head Coach Mike Woodley and Staff.
  • Camp/Event

  • 6/23/18 to 6/24/18
  • I was given Top Gun status at wideout and invited to the the 2018 FB University Top Gun Showcase, but was unable to attended due to previously scheduled college camps. This camp consisted of specific techniques based upon position and was hosted by former NFL Coaches and Players.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2018 UC Football Elite Camp
  • 5/26/18 to 5/26/18
  • This was my first out of state/long distance event. It was good to complete against other athletes from another part of the country (mostly south). The event itself overall was a fun experience and I felt I represented well.
  • Camp/Event
  • Prep Football America- National Collegiate Combine Chicago IL.
  • 5/13/18 to 5/13/18
  • This was my first camp of the season. I was awarded with the fastest time in the 3 cone drill (6.90). This was good to start off the year and a well organized event.

Training

  • TNT Athletics
  • 4 years
  • Training in speed/agility, strength training and sport specific drills with trainer Stephen Drain. Coach Drain is a former Mizzou grad playing 3 years at tight end and worked with the colleges training staff before starting TNT Athletics.
  • Coach Up- 1-on-1, postion coaching/technic development
  • 1 year
  • My coach, Jonathan Sanchez, is the head coach at Chicago Tech High School, in Chicago, IL. Not only did this help me with technic and training exercises, but it also allowed me to get another persons prospective about football that I respect.
