Brett Cunningham '20 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I could remember I've loved watching and playing football.  My dad was teaching me how to throw a spiral since before I could properly hold a football. Football has helped me grow as more than an athlete, I faced adversities growing up, but football always gave me a true purpose. This sport has taught me that in life, like football, you need mental fortitude, persistence, and knowledge about what's going on around you along with finesse to handle anything that can be thrown at you. You may not always face every challenge but to be prepared to is something I strive for. 

Many people overlook my team and teammates due to our record this year and previous years. To me football is about more than records. I built lasting important relationships with men I'm proud to call my brothers, who would go to war with me day in and day out. I've played under poor and extraordinary leadership, alongside guys who have a passion and ones who just want a jersey to wear. I want to set  the precedent for what I think a leader should be, someone who will push every last guy through the line and get the water too.
