My name is Connor Johannes and I attend Naperville North High School in Naperville, Illinois. I am the starting Quarterback and Punter for my team. NNHS competes in the Dupage Valley Conference, the toughest in Illinois. We are an 8A team, competing with the largest schools in the state. Naperville North has made the playoffs for the past 18 years, earning one state championship. I am excited to continue this tradition this year as a leader on the team.
I am open to hearing from any school, as long as it suits me academically and athletically. I'm extremely interested in mathematics and science, and I prefer to attend a university that is focused on technology. I plan to major in engineering, whether it be mechanical or industrial. I have been on the Honor Roll all six semesters, including High Honor Roll, the last four. I have recently been awarded academic all-conference,and I was voted Honorary Captain by my teammates. I was just awarded Athlete Of the Month by the Naperville Sun Times for November.
At Naperville North, I also play varsity baseball, and am the starting 3rd baseman and pitcher. In addition, I am the head of Ski & Snowboard Club at the school. Football is the sport that means the most to me, though. I have played football since I was in third grade, and I have been passionate about the sport ever since. I have played both ways (offense and defense) throughout my career, so I have a great understanding of both sides of the ball. As a Quarterback, having played defense in the past, helps me read the defense and find the open receiver. My team runs a spread option offense, and we also run a lot of triple option. I'm a balanced Quarterback, and I can run as well as throw.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read my personal statement. I'm truly excited to play the sport I love at the next level so I can follow in my father's footsteps. I update my highlight film weekly, so if you have a chance to watch it, the link is above.
