I started football in 8th grade. My first game I was put in the 5th quarter and then played the rest of the game. I have started every game since then. I have been told I have a natural athletic ability. I am a great team player. At our 8th grade Super Bowl game I was awarded the River Valley All Conference Team award and refused to leave my team right before the game to receive an individual award. Character and trust are major components of keeping teams performing as one. My heart is in playing defense, but have been playing offense now for 2 years because I will do what is best for the team.
I also wrestled this year to get stronger for football. I ended up placing 5th at sectionals. I wrestled as a heavy weight against guys 60 pounds heavier than me.
I am an outstanding student who has also tutored other students and team members. I am currently holding an unweighted GPA of 3.8 and a weighted of 4.2. I am enrolled in all honors and AP classes. I have not had the chance to take the SAT or ACT yet, but my PSAT was an 1400. Above all I believe academics are the most important thing to me. I would love to play college football at the right school with the best program for me. My plan is to be a trauma surgeon so that I can help people on what is sometimes the worst day of their life. I am also currently a peer helper. I counsel other students who find themselves in positions that they need help. This has included speaking to students about suicide, grades, home problems, weight and bullying. I also do a lot of volunteering. I love to give back to my community. I have worked with the local food drive, scouts and a religious organization.
I think I would be a good addition to any college team because I am a smart hard worker who values my education and athletic ability. I am interested in getting the most out of my college years before moving on with the rest of my life and career.
Thanks for your consideration.
