Hi, my name is Mason Trottier. Throughout my life, both of my parents have influenced me to be the humble, smart, and encouraging player that I am today. If someone needs a ride home, help with a play, or a workout buddy my teammates know I enjoy helping out anyway I can. My love for sports began in kindergarten! My first experience with football was playing flag football, after that I was hooked. Even though I loved playing the game, there were many obstacles I had to overcome in order to prove myself. I was overlooked because I was “too small," or “just not given a chance”. I would get my minimum number of plays. As I got older I knew I needed to make each play count.
Being the underdog fueled my fire and gave me the motivation to always set goals, and to prove them wrong every play! Some characteristics that I have used are to block out the negative and focus on doing my best on the field. Knowing my skills and always hoping to improve them allows my coaches to play me in multiple positions. Doing my homework on the field by watching the team film and the opponents has made me versatile to be a back up for the other guys on the team.
Football has taught me so much over the years. There are so many things I love about this game, some of the most important skills I have learned all relate to important life lessons I use everyday. Teamwork , time management, and hard work just to name a few.
My academic goals for high school are striving make honor roll, by working as hard off the field as I do on the field. I feel a sense of accomplishment with all the AP classes I have worked hard to take.
Learning from my guidance counselor last year that I am eligible for a STEM endorsement on my diploma was an achievement I worked very hard for. For college, I want to major in Biology and athletic training.
College will be a whole new adventure for me, and I cannot wait to see what my future holds.
