Football is the sport I enjoy playing the most. I am able to use my strength and size to help my team make the big plays in tight games. I study the strategy of the game, and I like knowing what everyone’s role is on each play we run. I am also a volunteer coach with the local youth football organization I was part of. I like helping kids learn the plays and get better as a team.
I am serious about improving my strength and conditioning. I see a personal trainer three times a week, participate in all off-season team conditioning events, and have started my own conditioning routine. I’ve been attending football camps this year to learn about ways I can improve my skills.
Time management is the key to me balancing my academic and athletic responsibilities. My high school provides a flex period each day, and I use this time to complete homework and study. I set aside an hour or two a day at home to study. I also volunteer my time to tutor other students in science and math, to help them get better grades.
I am looking for a strong academic program that fully supports student athletes. I want coursework that will offer the education I need to start an engineering/math/science career. I’m looking for a school where I will develop strong connections with my teammates and coaches, as well as making friends with other students.
