The one thing that has influenced my life the most is my mother. She was involved in a horrific accident in 2013, where she became a bi-lateral above the knee amputee. Through her determination to walk again, I have learned how to stand and smile in the face of adversity, as well as learning a never say never attitude. I grew up in front of the television with my family watching "football Sunday", and that's what sparked my first interest in playing sports until I was old enough to start playing myself. I have had to learn to overcome a learning challenge where as I am having to apply myself a little harder to my studies and am continuing to do so. My academic goals for high school are to meet and beat the 3.0 gpa, and continue on to college to earn a degree that will secure my future. I was a late bloomer in regards to a growth spurt and had to work harder, run faster and hit the weight room more often to overcome the stereotypes of "being to small" to play at the Varsity level. Through my own experiences as well as having one of the most inspiring role models, I hold the characteristics of someone who feels that for every struggle through the journey, it makes the victory that much sweeter!!
