I had to prove myself physically and mentally my sophomore year. I had transferred from a small high school in Missouri, to a Division 1 high school powerhouse of West Bloomfield. Not only was the transition a huge change, I also moved from middle linebacker to tight end (a position I had never played before). But I took every opportunity given to showcase my talents in practice and ended up with the starting job.
Ever since I put on my first football helmet, at the age of seven, I fell in love with the game. My dad being a player and coach always preached to me that, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard". That is my mentality I have everyday. From 6 A.M. workouts to big exams to Friday night lights. While I compete against talented player, I will never let anyone out work me,
