I love football, and it is the area in life that I put all of my heart, mind, and body into. I love the thrill of suiting up and playing under the big lights and because of the intensity of the sport. Nothing is a better feeling than making a big stop on 3rd and 2 to go, sacking the quarterback for a loss of 6 yards, and beating a double team to get a tackle for loss. Football has also taught me valuable life lessons such as perseverance. Even when I am down on the field or in life, the game has taught me to always keep pushing through regardless of the obstacles ahead. I have also learned about toughness, and how to not just face adversity but to look it in the eyes and tell it to get out of the way, whether it is powering through wind sprints at practice or dealing with intangible adversity, I know that I need to remain tough and not give way. All of these aspects have inspired my unrivaled passion for the game, and the constant drive to improve at all aspects.
Football is my main passion but my academics and future career opportunities are just as important. I strive to be a great player on the field but I also aspire to be just as great if not greater in the classroom. I always seek to keep my A's in classes, I seldom give them up even in the hardest programs like Advanced Placement (AP) and various Honors courses. While I would always prefer a late night workout or early morning workout over studying, academics are the key to my future and I take them very seriously. If I desire to give back to the game what the game has given to me, I need to be diligent in the classroom, which I always am.
I also aspire to be not just a great athlete and student but to be a good person out in the real world. I am a part of many church activities including camps, groups, and attend services regularly because faith trumps all aspects of my life. I also want to inspire people younger than me and teach them to love and cherish the game I love, and that is why I volunteer as a youth football coach to help develop a passion for the game in the younger generation. I also strive to be a great older brother to three younger siblings, as well as a great son to my two parents. I also make it a priority to be a great teammate, to encourage when someone gets down on the sidelines or to help get everyone pumped up to practice, even though many athletes do not love practice as much as I do. I also love to participate in other sports, such as power lifting, in order to make myself well rounded on the field. As a final statement to any coaches reading this, I personally promise that I will outwork anyone on any team, and I will always strive for continual improvement in all aspects.
