Daniel Itza '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is DANIEL ITZA and football is my passion! I am from a Battle Mountain, Nevada-Home of the Longhorns.

I prepared for my senior season by attending several football camps the summer of 2013 and participated in a summer passing league in Elko, NV.  I also travel to Reno for QB training with Coach Rod Robison with NFA, as I prepare to play at the next level I will continue to train.

We surprised many in the state this year by beating the 3 time defending state champions on their home field to make it to the state semi-finals.  We fell short in that game, but the opposing coach was quoted as saying:  “The defensive coaches came up with a good plan, and it was something that we could really contain that stud Itza.”, “…He’s a terrific athlete, and he had us running around with our hair on fire.” (Nevada Preps). I was nominated as one of five candidates as "Stud of the Year" by the KOLO 8 Sports Caravan in Northern Nevada for 2013. 

I was the starting varsity quarterback since my sophomore year in 2011.  Since my sophomore year,  I have played at the varsity level in football, basketball and baseball. In the classroom, I had a 3.1 GPA my junior year and currently have a 3.6 GPA in my senior year.  During my sophomore year I passed all proficiency tests required for graduation.  I scored a 20 on the ACT.  I am a quarterback and with the help of my coaches, offensive line and receivers, I helped lead our 2011, 2012 and 2013 football teams to the state semi-finals.

2013 season
  >Led my division in passing yds and total offense
  >Averaged over 200 yards per game with 18 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns
 

2012 season
  >Led my division in passing yds and total offense
  >2133 passing yards
  >Averaged 193.9 yards per game and 21 touchdowns
  >475 rushing yards and averaged 237 yds per game in total offense

My goal is to play football at the college level. I was awarded the most valuable player on our team in 2011, 2012 and 2013.   I was selected to 1st Team All Conference and All State for the Northern 2A/DIII in 2011, 2012 and 2013. I play for a small school, but I have high aspirations to play at the college level. I am a student of the game with a strong, accurate throw on the run or from the pocket. I can run the option or throw the 9!

During the off seasons, I have attended two football camps at the University of Nevada,  2 camps in Winnemucca, NV put on by Eastern Oregon University and 2 NFA Pre-Season Prep camp for quarterbacks.  In 2012 I was invited to compete in the Duel of the Dozens in Canton, Ohio in July of 2012.

Off the field I have an interest in finance and business and plan to study them further in college.
