Jordan Mews '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jordan Mews, 6'0", 185 and I am currently a senior at Nyack High School and will be attending college in the fall semester of 2014. I was the starting Quarterback and defensive end/outside linebacker for the 2013 season. I was selected to play QB by my coaches during my freshmen year as a backup but I loved it so much I worked hard to secure the starting position junior and senior years. I also started at defensive end/outside linebacker those years. My team, the Indians, competed in New York State, Section 1, class A and play some of the top teams in the league. I was team captain and helped my team achieve a 6-3 record, one game was forfeited.  I finished the season with 49 tackles, 16 solo, 9 for a loss, including 8 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 interception. On offense I am 73 for 131 with 1018 yards passing, 388 rushing yards with 9 total TDs. Additionally, I was selected to play in the Senior Bowl and have received ALL-COUNTY, ALL-LEAGUE and ALL SECTION awards. I was my team's MVP and won Athlete of the Season for my high school.

I believe I would be a good fit any college program because of my diversity. Last year I was asked by the coach to play three positions on defense due to the needs of the team. I started at DE/OLB/CB, in addition to starting at QB,. Last year, I weighed about 190 and was able to tackle large running backs, but also cover wide receivers. This year, I am about 185, as my coach needed me to run the ball more on offense. I have a great understanding of the offense and defense and I always help my teammates positions themselves if they forget where to line up or what to do. I have always been a team leader and team player. I know that I can compete at the college level.

My  goal is to play college football at the highest level possible. I want to  have a great senior season on  offense and defense. Lead my team to a playoff birth, which we missed last year. My academic goals are to to study history or criminal justice in college and eventually graduate with masters degree. I would then like to pursue a career in criminal justice.
