I am a three-sport varsity athlete. I was just named to the Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame "Golden Dozen," which is awarded every year to the County's top twelve scholar athletes. I was also named First Team All Westchester County and All Section 1 (Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Rockland Counties) and was selected to play in the Section 1 All Star Game. I was voted as the most valuable offensive lineman in Westchester/Putnam Counties, receiving over 25% of all votes. I did not play organized football until my freshman year of high school. By dedicating myself to the weight room and becoming a student of the game, I became an invaluable lineman to my team that enjoyed a 7-2 bowl winning season this past year. Our starting halfback, James Nicholas, was considered one of the best running backs in the region, and will be attending Yale University next fall. I had a major role in the blocking scheme of our read-option offense that contributed to James' and the team's success.
I am a captain of my high school baseball team, and I start at power forward on my high school basketball team. These teams play in the large school division of Westchester County.
I have grown considerably in the past year and expect to continue to add to my height and weight I would have enjoyed playing tight end in high school, but our team was relatively small and quick, and I was needed as a guard on an offense that had a lot of success running the read-option. I was also used at fullback in short yardage situations. In college, I am willing to play guard, tight end, outside linebacker or defensive end, depending on the team's needs. I have excellent hands (I am an all-league baseball catcher and play the low post on our basketball team) and believe that I can convert easily to tight end, a position I played on JV.
Sports have been a central part of my life. Football is my passion and is the sport I will pursue in college. My trajectory over the last four years suggests that I have a bright future at the college level.
