I have wanted to be a college/pro football player since I was 3. I know there are many kids in America who dream of the NFL, but for me it was a part of my life plan. I knew that I wanted to play football in college at the division 1 level, get business and culinary degrees, play in the NFL and then open a restaurant after my career. I shared that plan with my parents when I was 6, and they didn’t laugh or think it was the musings of a little kid. They immediately started to support my dreams with cooking classes, and flag football. Unfortunately, I was always big for my age, and wasn’t allowed to play youth league football. I was over the maximum weight, and it crushed me. I tried to re-focus on other sports, and played baseball, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, anything and everything, but football was still what I really wanted. In 7th grade, in Sewickley, PA, a coach approached me and asked if I would play on the line. I was the left tackle for Quaker Valley Middle School that year, and I have been working hard on getting better ever since. I have had great coaches support me, my parents are still my biggest cheerleaders, and I know in my heart that I will play college football. I was the starting Right Tackle on the JV team, and second string for Varsity as a Freshman at Asheville High School.
In addition to supporting my football goals, my parents taught me to value hard work, a good education, and loyalty. I am taking all honors courses as a Freshman, and plan to continue in honors and AP classes as I progress through high school. Math is my favorite subject however I am a well rounded student in all subjects.
Other than football, lacrosse is my off season sport during the spring. I was the season MVP of the first ever Asheville High School Varsity Lacrosse team. I am going to attend football camps, and prospect days throughout my highschool career to hone my skills, and continue to refine my talent as an Offensive Tackle.
I am honored to be considered as a potential collegiate athlete, and will put all my efforts into fulfilling that potential.
