Friends and family ask me why I want to go to college and participate in a collegiate football program. The game of football offers a high level of competition and demands dedication; much like life. My name is Reid Simmons, I am fifteen (15) years old and a Running Back for Charlotte Country Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. I began my football career playing in Pop Warner; an experience that laid a solid foundation for the game. Being a collegiate athlete would provide an opportunity to be part of something much bigger than just the sport. A collegiate athlete learns valuable life lessons such as time management, team, commitment, respect, integrity, dedication and being humble; traits that can benefit an individual in their respective future career and life.
School is an important piece of my overall development. I am fortunate to attend a college prep school that is continually recognized for its academic achievements and curriculum. The school demands much in terms of academics and time management. I feel I will be very well prepared for the next level in college based on the aforementioned.
Based on my strong personal character, work ethic and desire to improve, I will be a strong asset to any collegiate team that would give me an opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.
