Personal Statement
I have played soccer my whole life. Halfway through my sophomore year, our head football coach calls me over to talk to him and asked me to kick that night in a JV game. Having never kicked a football before, coach took me out to the 20 yard line and had me kick a field goal. I made all 3 and coach told me to call my parents, I was suiting up for the game that night. I then kicked that Friday night in the varsity game and went 1 for 1 on field goals and 7 for 10 on extra points as well as kicked the game winning extra point against Durant. My junior year I was about 90% on all of my kicks with making my longest in game of 38 yards against Tulsa Central to start the year. I had 8 tackles on kickoff last year with 3 against Noble.
I have attended many kicking camps including three Prokicker camps and two Kicknation camps. I won kicking competitions at the 2016 Prokicker camp for longest field goal (50 yards) and best kickoff (hang time and distance). My junior year I travelled to Norman and trained under former University of Oklahoma kicker Michael Hunnicutt until he left Oklahoma to train for the NFL. I'm very coach-able and committed to training hard to become a better player. I have a 3.3488 weighted GPA and have taken many AP classes over my academic career. I have been on Honor roll for the first three years of high school and fully expect a fourth year to be accomplished this year. I am a member of National Honor Society and I am also a peer tutor. My dedication to my athletics is only surpassed by my dedication to my academics. While at Memorial I have enjoyed multiple sports. I am a four year varsity starter on the soccer team, a 4 year varsity cross country athlete (2 year captain), and 3 year starter on the football team.
