Personal Statement

I'm Erik Bierman and I'm in the class of 2014.  Ever since people have been telling me that I have a talent for football, my biggest dream was to play for a collegiate football team. I love the game of football and give it my all everyday so I can succeed. Success is extremely important to me and in any team I've ever played for I've done all I can possibly do to help that team experience success. I currently weigh in at 290lbs and I am 6’4.5” tall. I play any position on the defensive line and any position on the offensive line, except center. My preferred positions are DT and DE. I also give my best effort to succeed in the classroom, currently maintaining a 3.3/4.0 GPA. I am also currently in a leadership course at my school to help me develop further skills for leading my peers. I would like to play for a college that has a strong athletic tradition. I am also looking to play for a college with strong academics. I am very interested in playing football at the next level and will base my decision on these two criteria. Although I am willing to play for any school that meets those two criterion, my preference would be to play for a school that is located within 8 hours of my hometown (as then my parents said they would attend all of my home games). I plan to pursue a degree in either History or the Social Sciences and see myself going on for graduate level studies following my undergraduate degree. I am committed to helping whichever school I attend be as successful as possible when it comes to football.

The White tier is competitive football with more of an emphasis on skill development and fair play. All clubs in SOFAL field a more competitive Red tier (rep) team first. This is travel football; parents can expect a practice 2-3 times a week and a minimum 8 game playing season with 4 away games and 4 home games. The Wolverines start practice in mid July, the regular season is August through to October with the season ending Championships in early November. The “grass roots” CSFL is the ideal introduction for all boys and girls that want to try football for the first time and for those who want a tune up prior to the fall SOFAL Wolverines season. This was Erik's introduction to football; he played Center and OT. For more information go to: http://www.cambridgefootball.ca/Page.asp?n=20981&snid=dHLE%5E2E6%5E&org=cambridgefootball.ca
