My name is Mitchell DeZort. I am OLB from Pittsburgh, PA. I am a junior and will graduate next year in the class of 201. I am currently 6'1" and 215lbs. I have a strong work ethic both athletically and academically. Athletically, my family has a solid athletic background. My father, Michael, played both basketball and football in high school. He was recruited and played football for West Liberty University in West Virginia. I train at Outer Limits, a facility that is staffed by a team of exercise science professionals that train and teach explosiveness. At home, I train with my father who is skilled in Crossfit workouts. My home workouts at our facility include rowing, plyometric workouts, and Olympic lifts. My father and his discipline has instilled in me to set my sights high, remain focused, and make necessary sacrifices in order to dominate.
I adhere to this same philosophy academically. I maintain a 3.6 core GPA and a score of 27 on the ACT while playing football and basketball year round within various city leagues, my high school, and AAU teams.
As mentioned above, I am a junior that attends Highlands High School. I received first team all conference OLB, I broke the ALL TIME SINGLE SEASON SACK RECORD with 15 sacks, led the team in tackles with 116(played 10 games) and I was a Steelers spotlight player of the week. Also. I am ranked a top 10 basketball player by Pittsburgh Basketball Report. I am averaging 22 points a game. I am receiving the most interest in football from Stanford, Pitt, Maryland, Army, and Penn. I am very interested in your school and love the team. I have attached a link to my football highlight tape.
Academically, I am enrolled in both honors and advanced placement classes in order to accomplish the academic goals I have set for myself. My mother, Melonie, supports my athletic goals but has instilled in me that academics is just as important as athletics. She has taught me to remain disciplined and strive for my dreams both academically as well as athletically.
I have no doubt that attending college will provide me with the opportunity to achieve the goals I have set for myself. I am blessed and thankful that I have a supportive family that empowers me to expect great things for myself.
I am very interested in your University as well as your football program. Please view my tape and contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you, God bless
Mitch DeZort
