I always dreamed of playing the game when I was just a little dude watching the older guys get it in. Then I got old enough to start doing it, and I couldn't stop. It's literally been the best addiction I've had in my life. It gave me the platform to meet great men and women in my life who have changed and enhanced me in ways I can't begin to repay them for. Everyday I see all the stuff going on in the news and social media and it makes me grateful I played a sport that helped make me a better young man on and off the field. I play the game for all the people like me who fell in love with the fun. I have played long enough to know most folks don't consider the tough 3 a days and 4am runs all that fun, but it was never about the work. I wanted to do something that I loved so much I didn't mind crying, bleeding, and sacrificing enormous parts of my life for. Football is that for me. I don't mind the work because I'm next to a bunch of teammates, coaches, and fans who somehow get what that feeling feels like. The game is more than a game for a lot of us..it's life. I know everybody can relate to that. We're all out here living trying to find out what we love enough to not mind all the downs that go along with those ups. Life isn't all fun and games and that's cool because that part is necessary to make us tough enough to make it to the finish line. I just don't want to get to whatever that finish line looks like and not have done what I loved with everything I have. I want to take what I love and change lives. That's what football has given me in the form of friends, family, and community. There is no way I'm not eager to have the possible opportunity to build on that at the next level. I'm ready to learn, grow, and more from coaches, teammates, and the community at the next level if given that chance.
