I am Martin Contreras, a proud member of the El Paso Franklin Class of 2026. I have dreamed of playing college football since I first put on pads and a helmet at the age of 7. Playing college football is an opportunity that could change my life!
My dream is to see my family in the stands, proud of the opportunities I embrace and the person I grow into during my time in college. I want to be a role model. Academically, my pursuits go beyond the football field, I am interested in pursuing a career in biology or kinesiology.
As a student athlete I take on the role of a team leader, doing my best to inspire and encourage my teammates. One of the things I appreciate the most is the sense of brotherhood within the team. I am coachable and I always try my best to fill in where my team needs me when my teammates can't play. My commitment to the football has inspired me to try competing at the collegiate level. What sets me apart is not just my love for the game but also my determination to push myself beyond limits, and always look for opportunities for improvement and growth. I place a high value on my academics and maintain a strong work ethic to excel both in my studies and on the field.
Playing the sport has taught me important things like how to stay strong in tough times, the value of working together as a team, and how to lead by example. These experiences have really shaped who I am, teaching me to be disciplined, make sacrifices, and have the determination to overcome all obstacles.
What makes me stand out as a potential recruit isn't just my dedication to academics and sports, but the mix of these qualities, including being coachable, accountable, flexible, and passionate.
