Joshua Wells '17 Recruiting Profile

I am ready to take my academics and collegiate skills to the next level. I pride myself on being a hard worker, staying dedicated and focused on my goals. I have talent on and off the field. I want to be able to use my talents to help me advance my goals, and I know that my athleticism helps me stay mentally prepared in the classroom as well as in real life situations. As an athlete I believe that I am a leader, and can be coached because this is something that I am very passionate about. 

I have been playing football since I was 8, but football isn't my only passion. I have been playing basketball since I was 4 years old, and baseball since I was 12. I wrestled in 7th & 8th grade, and keep in shape in the off season by weight lifting and running track. In addition to running track, I also throw shot and discus for the varsity team. 

I am currently in the T-STEM magnet program and have to maintain an 85 or higher GPA.This includes classes that are Advanced Placement and high level math and science courses. This will help me pursue higher education in the fields of science, technology & engineering. I am also enrolled in dual-credit college courses to help get me a head start in my college classes. 

I believe that all of these qualities make me a well-rounded athlete and student, but I believe that my passion for serving a greater cause makes me a great person. I am heavily involved in helping veterans, and serving my church. These qualities keep me grounded, humbled and focused.
