Personal Statement
Tell coaches about your collegiate goals and aspirations.
My long-term goal and aspiration are to earn a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology while playing college football. One day, I'd like to go pro and play in the NFL. Football is my passion, but I also enjoy helping people and giving back to the community, therefore I hope to be in a position to help others and give back to the community one day. After football, I'd like to have a steady career. I'd also like to go to a school with a highly competitive athletic program. I have a passion for the competitive environment. I am currently a student at a highly competitive high school, where I am performing exceptionally. Football is a sport I've enjoyed playing since I was five years old, and I hope to compete at a professional level one day.
What makes you a good candidate for their team?
I am a leader among my peers and have a wide range of skills. I add a lot to a team because I'm a quick learner! I am self-motivated to devote hours to mastering any skills or practices that may help me improve. I am a player who is open to receiving feedback from my coaches in order to improve my game. I learn from my mistakes and review tape after each game to see what I can improve on. My mentality is to go to whatever length to help my team win. The desire and ambition I have to achieve in the game I enjoy. I presently play middle and outside linebacker on defense, as well as Special Teams!
What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics?
I'm a really unselfish person that puts my team first in order for them to succeed as a collective. Because of the amount of energy, I use on the field, I am much more motivated in the classroom to maintain my grades. I'll always be on top of things when it comes to my academics. I love football and learning new things to improve myself, but what has stuck with me the most is my mother's reminder that academics come first and that I should put as much effort into my studies as I do on the field.
