Personal Statement
Last Fall was my second year as a starter on varsity and the second year our team ran the flex bone/triple option offense. My goal going into the season was to make an impact on the team, the school and the community and I feel I succeeded in these goals.
During the season, as we became more accustomed to the offense the team formed a close bond that was stronger than I have seen in the previous two seasons. As a result, we had a winning record for the first time in 7-years. As a player, I feel the most growth I had was in the offseason between freshman and sophomore year when an alumnus of my high school, who is now a QB on the Washington State University football team began mentoring me. He taught me a lot about the game and how to take charge and improve as a leader. He also helped me a lot going into my junior year, he taught me a lot more of the complicated parts of the game that he had learned from his coaches at the next level.
Playing three sports (football, basketball, baseball) in the past and having mentors that have made an impact on me, has made me into the athlete and person that I am today. I have come a long way but need to continue working hard in all aspects to become the best student and athlete I can be.
