Personal Statement
My name is Alex Beringer; I'm 6'3 305 pounds and the starting center this year for summer high school as a junior, as a sophomore I came to sumner expecting to have a year to get adjusted but I became the starting center immediately, I was surrounded by seniors and team mates that were already experienced so I had to step up my game. That season we got all the way to semis before being knocked out of the playoffs, it was difficult for me knowing all the work we put in and coming so close to the state championship. I transferred to sumner from Bellevue high school 2 years ago where I had been brought up as a freshman to varsity in the playoffs; we ended up going all the way to the state championship, unfortunately we lost this game to eastside catholic while blowing a very big lead after the half. Seeing the seniors and my own brother suffer that loss really affected me and made me understand what it feels like to lose that big of a game (while it is still kind of a sore subject I feel like it made me stronger and a better player to experience that). I come from a very athletic family and sports has always been apart of my life whether it's football, basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling; it's what I love and it's what I see as a way to get to college, to get a good job and to in turn take care of my family which is my overall goal in life. Academically I currently have a 3.0 overall grade average. I am very coachable and always look to improve myself as a player every opportunity I get. I am very open minded to any collage willing to give me a look, thank you for taking the time to give my profile a look!
