Personal Statement
I am Ava Warner and in the 2024 class at Bellevue High School in Washington State. I can hit for power or lay down a bunt when needed. I have been a starting middle infielder on my travel team since I was 10 years old, however I play a versatile defense and play outfield as well. I have been a core member of my HS varsity team since freshman year. In my junior year I took a leadership role and earned the all county second team award with a 0.519 AVG, 0.720 OBP, 1.720 OPS, 20 SB, and 0.958 fielding. My OBP ranked 35th overall in Washington state, 7th in 3A and 3rd in my district. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to play on select teams run by collegiate softball coaches with next level training and accountability. I've been exposed to collegiate softball players that served as guest coaches. They have all been great role models and mentors for me. Competing on the national stage in PGF Nationals was a memorable experience for me and something I strive to continue to do.
Success in the classroom is just as important to me as performance on the field. I work hard and challenge myself with multiple AP courses, have a 4.2 weighted GPA and scored in the 96th percentile on my SAT with a 1370. In my free time, I like to be involved in my community and volunteer in one of the busiest hospitals in the state and also provide meals to the Seattle homeless.
