Personal Statement
I am Jack Warner and am in the 2025 class at Bellevue HS in Washington State. I hit left and can hit for power or for contact. I have been the starting shortstop on my teams since I was 11 years old, however have the ability to play all infield positions. This past year I earned my high school golden glove award, and the All-County second team award with .386 AVG, .527 OBP, 1.053 OPS and 0.944 fielding. My AVG ranked me 6th for sophomores in my 3A division and 16th in Washington State. I play travel ball with the 18U Boys of Summer Premier team where many are committed seniors or college students coming back to play another year. I hit lead off with .356 AVG, .913 OPS, 40 Runs, 33 RBIs, 14 SB with 0.920 fielding and 14 DP's. Highlights this season included hitting a walk-off in the Brandy Pugh Tournament and receiving the Best Defensive Play of the Game Award at the WSU Palouse Summer Series.
I have grown up in a family of athletes and I love to compete and challenge myself in multiple sports. I played running back and outside linebacker in football for 7 years, competing nationally in junior football and was called up to the varsity team in my freshman year in a very competitive and nationally recognized Bellevue HS football team. Through the years, I have been fortunate to be coached by former MLB players, NFL players and Division I athletes. They have all been great mentors and role models for me. I understand that my success on the field begins with preparation off the field. I workout daily with strength and flexibility training and practice mental preparation. I also realize the importance of nutrition and cook most of my own meals from scratch.
Performance in the classroom is just as important to me as success on the field. I work hard and challenge myself with AP and Honors classes and maintain a 3.94 GPA. With my academic achievement, I earned a spot as a sophomore to play up on the Junior All Academic Team in 2022 at the Arizona Fall Classic. I have been invited back this fall as a junior to play up on the Senior All Academic Team.
In my free time, I love classic rock and taught myself to play the electric guitar during the Covid lockdown. Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Eddie Van Halen are favorites of mine to play. I also like to be involved in my community and volunteer with BLS/CPR education/defibrillator drives, and mentor the next generation of athletes in Little League and Junior Football.
Through my family, mentors, coaches, and experiences, I have learned to trust the process of discipline, hard work, and accountability that it takes to play at the next level and practice this daily.
