Hello, my name is Thomas Lagrone and I have been practicing basketball every day for 5 years. My love of the craft, fervent practicing, and dedication to improvement demonstrates my passion for the sport. One day in middle school, I was practicing my shot during P.E. and my friend told me that one hand should be my guide hand and the other should be the main force behind the ball. That was my first practical experience of taking my game to the next level, fueled by daily practice. Basketball has taught me about myself. I ramp up my energy and intensity to match tough situations. I will never go down without a fight. I am an extrovert and I am willing to encourage my teammates.
I understand that being a student athlete encompasses more than playing the sport. Excelling in the academic side as a student is critical. My grades are consistently high, I have never failed a class, and my teachers describe me as a willing learner. My academic goals are to keep my grades where they have been - high! Time management is second nature to me. I have experience balancing out basketball practice, game times, and travel times with my academic studies. I work daily on my 3-point shot, wing and half-court drills, practice my finishing, playing hard defense, and my ball handling. I have been through major adversity as my dad passed away in January and I am going to work as hard as possible to make him proud.
