Nazir Russell '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since the age of 3 that’s when I fell in love with the game, I always had a ball in my hand since before I could walk. I am determined to play the sport at the professional level and will do it by any means. I play basketball all year round including local seasonal leagues, high school basketball, and AAU. I also play other sports such as football and baseball which has helped me become a better athlete by always conditioning.

I am a great scorer with great playmaking/ball handling skills with high basketball IQ. I always communicate on defense and offense being a floor general and will always give 110% on the court. What I have learned from myself is that while playing my sports I know when to step up and be a leader but still remember this is a team sport. One of my skills I have always been told is I have the ability to make quick decisions in a drop of a dime for my age.  

I take school very seriously since Elementary I have been in Gifted and Talented and was a straight A student, as of now I am in AP classes and honors classes while I maintain a high GPA. I always volunteer around local basketball gyms in my town and help little kids with the basic fundamentals of sports and work throughout the summer with the youth in summer programs. I want to attend college for education but also to become a great Student-Athlete. I am open to all options and want to find the right college for my education and for me to compete against the highest level of competition possible.

I want to become an influence on the next generation in my town, to show my community that anyone can do it! You just need to take the effort, time, and have the determination, and most importantly sacrifices. I am going to make my family, friends, community, and parents proud.
