My name is Shaun Wingfield and I am 16 years old. I am 6'0" and i weight 165 pounds.I am a junior at Somerset Academy High School. I am currently training with my high school head coach, Coach Kotkenya Cullins to improve my all-around performance on defensive and offensive. I am also training with Coach Stan Remy to put extra work into improving my ball handling skills. I would love to attend a College or a University in California. This is because I visited several universities while vacationing in the southern region of California and I loved the environment and the people that go to school at those several colleges I visited. However, I will be willing to attend school in another state. It doesn't matter if the school I attend is a Division 1 school or not, it's more important to me that I play the game that I truly love and I get an excellent education. Basketball isn't the only important factor when it comes to which school to choose, but also if they support my major which is Sports Medicine.
I feel I would be a strong asset to anyones team due to the fact that I'm a very hard worker and a leader on and off the court. I practice and work very hard on improving my game and becoming a better all-around player. I believe in giving my team, my coach, my teachers, and my family my very best on the court and in the classroom. I believe that hard work truly pays off. You just have to have faith in yourself, believe in yourself, and never give up in order to achieve your goals in life. I will give 150% of myself to you and your team. I will help to improve and make the team better. Not only am I a leader on the court, but also off the court. I have a 4.2 GPA and help my teammates and classmates whenever they need help with school work. As I'm helping them I make sure they understand what I just helped them with before moving on. I'm a leader on the court by helping players learn new plays, help them shoot free throws, work on their ball handling, etc. I am very vocal on the court by communicating on offense and defense and vocal off the court by bringing excitement and encouraging my teammates. All I ask is that you believe in me and my abilities that I can bring on and off the court.
