Tye Porter '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tye Porter, class of 2024, I play power forward and small forward at kapolei high school. I am 6ft 1 however even though I'm very undersized I am very good at using my body against people alot taller than me by doing all the little things to get a rebound like box out or to simply get a bucket with a quick move and a pump fake. I started playing basketball in the summer of 8th grade and even though I've started alot later than everyone else I'm determined to work hard everyday at my local park and with my highschool coach to take my game to the next level I take pride in how I play the game such as my defence and the small details that give my team the advantage while I'm on the court. I am a team leader and I always try to encourage my teammates to do better on and off the court.

Academically I'm a great student I pay attention in class and my sophomore year I averaged a 3.7 GPA I always pay attention in class not only for the grade, but to learn and be able to play the game I love and hope to take to the next level.
