John Evans '20 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to earn a scholarship to play basketball. I love the game and worked so hard at it growing up so that it could pay for school. My goal is to make it to medical school, and choose a field once I get there. 

I am a good candidate for any team because I am very self motivated. Nobody ever told me to go get shots up or go work on my game. I am always hungry to get better. 

I am different than other recruits because of my high moral standards. I have never drank alcohol, done any type of drugs, smoked, and have never vaped. Family and God come first for me. I just returned from spending a year in the state of Georgia spreading the gospel for my church. On this journey I was 100% dedicated to studying and serving the lord, only talking to family and friends once a week. It was a life changing experience for the better. 

Athletically, I am a good sized shooting guard, fast, and athletic. I played QB for my football team and ran a 4.44. In high school I also went in many dunk contests and had over 45 in game gunks in my high school career. Although I am athletic I was known for my outside shooting.  I am also the provincial/state champion triple jumper in Alberta. 

I planned on playing ball in Canada but with some issues between my hometown college HC and admin, it is not the best situation anymore.  Willing to go wherever!
