I plan to study culinary arts but I had also got the thought that I wanted to play basketball. I couldn't give up competitive sports in high school. I want to pursue a team in college, a competitive team. I love playing leisure basketball but when ever I get started I want to play someone one on one or ask to play a five on five if there are enough people in the gym. I need the organized competition part of basketball. It makes it fun for me. The reason I signed up for recruiting is because my skills have improved greatly since my beginning years of high school. I didn't even start my freshman year for JV. I sat the bench and was put in for minimal minutes. Sophomore year I started JV most of the time and I also swung up to Varsity when they needed me. Then junior year came around and all the sudden after practicing harder and working out a bit, my skills greatly improved. I started for Varsity every game, I was usually in the top 3 for scoring each game, I can also out rebound many of the big men in our conference. I'm only 5'10" and can out rebound guys 6'3'" and higher. We then got to our class C state quarterfinal in Augusta, ME. In that game I performed the best on the team. Our number one guy was having an off night and I took the reigns. I put up 15 of our 56 points tying my team mate which had 15 as well. I can also block people efficiently. I can time my jump to block shots well but it is not the greatest and is one spot of many that improvement is wanted and needed for me to become a great all-around player that I want to be. I plan to play on an AAU team for the summer and workout and practice a lot to become great in the skills that I need to improve on greatly. I put my heart to basketball as my favorite sport out of baseball and golf as well. I plan to set my focus towards basketball for my senior year in high school and become great and get a shot at playing for a college. It would be my dream come true.
