Malik McKinney vs...Personal Statement
My name is Malik McKinney, and I am a 6’1 Junior starting point guard at Indian Creek Upper School. I pride myself in being a leader, team player, abiding by the team system and doing whatever it takes to win. My mindset is that “defense wins games” and I’ll dive on the floor and save balls to make it happen. I’m a hardworking athlete who’s extremely quick and you’ll find me in the gym constantly working on my game. I’ve been working on my offensive game as well to ensure I keep a balance. While doing so I averaged 18 pts a game.
Academically, I currently hold a 3.2 GPA with a very challenging curriculum at a College Prep High School. My high school curriculum combines Honor and AP courses. I received an Honor Roll award this Spring for obtain a 3.6/4.0 GPA. I took the SAT in the fall and my NCAA Eligibility number is 1610637119. I pride myself on being a Student Athlete. I'm focused and can perform in the classroom and the basketball court.
Indian Creek is in the MIAA B Conference and 2 seasons ago we won the MIAA C Conference Championship. As the starting point guard, I was extremely proud of our team. Last season we were elevated to the B Conference and I’m expecting another great season. Where I received the honor of MIAA All-Conference Award.
My plan is to major in Business and I have been researching your Business program and can’t wait to receive additional information on college visits and Elite camp information.
