Nicholas Russ '22 Recruiting Profile

I am Nicholas Russ. I am comfortable being called "Nic".   I am a rising senior at St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, MD and have a current GPA of 3.63; cumulative 3.17 (reported for freshman and sophomore years). Basketball has been my passion since I was small. I demonstrate a level of confidence on a court more so than anywhere else. When I learn more, I can do more when I am playing. I know I have not reached my full potential which excites me. I am looking for a college whose athletic program will help me reach a next level of play. I believe I was evaluated last year via NCSA given I was not able to attend out-of-state basketball events. I was rated at the D2 level.  Ask any of my coaches and they will likely tell me I am harder on myself because I tend to focus on what I didn't do well. I currently plan varsity at Pallotti. I was co-captain last season. But I am also actively planning in AAU (District All Stars - #5). My team has a busy summer. We have been playing local games and have a full schedule of out-of-state games (Disruptive Hoops, Hoop Group, Big Shots). Through injury, I believe I have gotten stronger athletically and learned alot about y body. Injury has also made me more curious about the body's resilience and brain power.  So I have an interest in studying Sports Psychology and/or Sports Medicine in college. I look forward to having more one-on-one interview with college administrators and hopefully college coaches who will view me as an asset to their program.
