I am Josiah Newbern and I love basketball. I found my passion for basketball at an older age, as I didn’t have any interest in the sport until I was 13 years old. So with my parents support, I started training because I had no clue how to dribble. The more I am exposed to basketball the more passionate I become. This passion also includes my dream of becoming a college student-athlete. I believe in hard work and dedication. I also believe in applying my positive beliefs, values and character into basketball with the intent of being successful. As a teammate, I believe in participating on and off the court. I believe in facing adversity as a team and holding ourselves equally responsible. I also believe in making sure that I play my role as a part of the team effectively and also make sure that my team doesn’t suffer any consequences due to any misconduct on my part. I academically want to standout, hold my team up and overall be a good example in regards to self-discipline. Most importantly, I want to earn my degree and put 100% of my effort in everything that I do.
