Sloan Ireland '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello to all coaches!

I am currently a 6'9'' Junior at the rigorously academic Stuyvesant High School in downtown Manhattan, NYC. I have grown up playing street ball since I was in the 5th grade, but as I hit my growth spurt in high school I began to want to take basketball to the next level. I made Varsity as a Sophomore and worked extremely hard although we had a shorter game season due to COVID-19 restrictions. Now as a starter in my Junior year, I seek to push my own game as well as that of my team to the farthest limit possible and turn a corner for the Stuyvesant basketball program. As of 1/2/22, we are 5-2 in our season putting in the maximum effort in the Manhattan A I division. 

Academics are extremely important to me and I strive to be a top academic student while keeping my basketball skills ever-increasing to the next level.  I have a good GPA and SAT scores as a result of my desire to balance the game of basketball and my academics which are the two things that give me joy and will take me far in life. 

I look forward to showing colleges what I have to offer to strengthen their basketball program both on and off the court in all that I do!
