KJ Ford '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is KJ Ford, and I am a rising senior (c/o 2025) at Reagan High School just outside of Winston-Salem, NC. I am dedicated to excelling both academically and athletically at a collegiate level, particularly at institutions renowned for its commitment to student-athlete success in both areas. I currently have a 4.37 (3.9) weighted (unweighted) GPA and a 30 on my ACT. I am interested in pursuing a degree in Business (finance).

On the basketball court, I play as a guard (PG/SG) and have started every season of my high school career so far, reflecting my consistency and reliability as a team player. Last season, I averaged 18 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block per game. My defensive play is strategic and proactive, where I take tremendous pride in having generated 45 deflections and numerous deadball turnovers this past season, which prove vital in shifting game momentum in our favor. My leadership capabilities have been recognized through my role as a team captain for two consecutive seasons, and my performance has earned me multiple all-conference honors, all-tournament team selection, and 2-time participant in a regional all-star game as voted on my area coaches.

Off the court, I achieve a balance between my sports commitments and my roles as Secretary of Jack and Jill, and as one of only two high school members on our district's Superintendent's Student Advisory Council. These roles have sharpened my organizational and leadership skills, which I am eager to bring to a collegiate basketball program.

What sets me apart from other recruits is not just my ability to perform but also my leadership and character on and off the court, my strategic thinking during play, and my commitment to community and academic excellence. These attributes are important to me and I am looking to join a basketball program that aligns well with them.
