Personal Statement
As a student athlete at Trinity Lutheran High School (a 1A private high school in Bend, Oregon), it's hard to get noticed by college recruiters. You need to be extraordinary on the court, play on a 5A or 6A team for the competition and exposure, or both. While I could have transfered to a large competitive program, I wanted to stay at Trinity because:
- I love and respect my coach and team
- I want to contribute to building a successful basketball program
- I like small class sizes where I know my teachers and can get help when needed
- I have the freedom to worship and practice my faith
- I feel safe and I'm not exposed to drugs, sex, violence or bullies
I'm looking for similar qualities in the college I attend. More importantly, I'm looking for a coach who has high integrity and is genuinely interested in bringing out the best of me both on/off the court. As for teammates, I want to be surrounded by men of good, solid character, who have strong work ethics, dedication to the sport, and outstanding athletic skills.
My goal for 2019-20 is to win the 1A state championships. After being ranked dead last at #65 my freshman year, Trinity kicked into overdrive and we ended the 2016-17 season at #27. Last year we ended at #2 in the state championships and want nothing more than to be #1 this upcoming year.
I appreciate you looking at my profile and thank you for your time. I hope I'm the player you're looking for to round out your team.
