Being a student-athlete is an important part of who I am. I began playing basketball when I was five years old and started playing AAU in 2nd grade against 4th graders. I played seven years of competitive AAU basketball against guys a year or two older than me until 7th grade. This made me a tough and competitive player. I am also a consistent left-handed shooter, I am coachable, and I am a good defender. I have a high basketball IQ and work to help my teammates get better on and off the court. I have learned that in basketball and life, I cannot always control what happens, but I can control what happens next. I can manage my response, attitude, energy, and effort. In my sophomore year, I started on JV and completed the season on varsity. Currently, I am playing on a competitive 16U AAU team.
I prioritize my schoolwork because I value education. My goal is to excel academically in high school and earn a college scholarship to complete my degree in business or sports management so that I can contribute back to my community.
