I’m going to Oregon State University in the Fall 2023. Playing golf on my own and continuing my studies and passion for golf. I am a lifelong athlete, started playing sports when I was in kindergarten. In kindergarten, I played T-ball and then transitioned to Gymnastics. Gymnastics taught me to be mentally tough at a young age. I started training in Peak Elite and then transitioned to Oregon Gymnastics Academy, where I began to compete statewide. The sport requires strict discipline because it is a physical sport. I won the State Championship back to back (2013-2014). Then started playing Tennis and competed competitively. A knee injury from tennis required me to have surgery. After surgery, I went to therapy to get my body back into training. I was unable to participate in a sport that would affect my knees. So I decided to play golf and have enjoyed the sport ever since. I have practiced every day on the driving range and putting green. It made me happy to be able to participate in a sport. One of the highlights of my life was winning districts back to back and winning state my first year playing competitively. This was no easy feat as I played golf for 3 years. It was an honor to be selected as one of the finalists for the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) golfer of the Year and to be interviewed by KATU TV. I hope this shows you that I am resilient and mentally tough to play at the college level.
