I have had a passion for playing basketball since I was five years old and held that small basketball in my hand. I was blessed to have my dad coach our team. Basketball is definitely in my blood. Since I can remember, I've always had the dream of playing for a college team and making my father very proud. Over the years my dad has taught me that being part of a team is important, listening to my coach is a necessity, and having fun is a must! But besides those very important life lessons, I know that becoming a team player and an asset to my team means that I must truly be focused and driven.
The basketball court has been a second home to myself and my family. My dad has coached me through my freshman year in high school for our recreation league outside of school; leading us to an undefeated season and playoff champions my final year. A remarkable finish to a career that started when I was five. He has taught me everything I know and I have able to bring this powerful knowledge to high school level and the varsity team at Solanco High School. When I'm on the court, and involved in a high school game, I hear that voice outside of the court telling me to "be more "AGGRESSIVE", "DRIVE that ball Dylan," "GET THAT REBOUND," and "GO FOR THE BUCKET!" All in my dad's voice. He has made me the player that I am today and the I want to be tomorrow.
Yes, you can say basketball is my life, I love the sport, I love being part of a team, and I'm learning to become a stronger leader for myself and my team members. I need to work on my aggressive skills and just becoming an overall better player. Coaches, please keep in mind that my heart desires to play on the college level and I can bring many skills to the court. I have the drive, the desire and the passion to be that center or power forward you are looking for to add to your team.
