Shalom Wakuteka '23 Recruiting Profile

Hey Coach. My name is Shalom Wakuteka and I am a Forward/Guard in the class of 2023. I really love being competitive against high skill level players because it helps me  get better and improve as a player and a person. My older brothers usually take me to the streets to play against tough competitors to bring out the competitive player that I am, so that I can be mentally prepared for any in-game situation that happens. I fell in love with basketball at the age of 3. Since then, I have been grinding knowing one day my hard work will pay off. My parents have gone through so much in life that I want to return the favor to them so they won’t have to pay for anything of mine. My goals in the nearest future are to be the best basketball player I can possibly be and go to the NBA/Overseas.  On the court I am a team player, I only do what needs to be done individually in specific and necessary situations on the court. Off the court, I like to have fun with my friends/teammates. I usually spend my time during the day either watching some basketball on ESPN or actually playing basketball at a park with friends and family.
